Sprucing up your home, one step at a time

If you haven't yet read the "Sprucing up your home" article in Issue #2, there is some great tips there! We are still going over the outdoor portion of homes. Now that we've finished discussing the vegetation, we are moving on to the form of the land. Flat land can be easy to work with but your sims' yards will look much more unique and original if their lot has some small hills.
Another cool thing you can add to make your lots look cool is some sort of water. A small pond or stream out back makes a lot really come alive. And to add to it, you can place lily pads and other water plants on the pond. Or if you have seasons, a cool spray sprinkler!
And finally, there's the yard decorations. For those that just own the basegame, some cool things to add to you lots include the lawn gnome, the flamingo, or a fountain! A bench is also a nice touch. Even more cool yard decor come with the EP's and SP's so your sim's yards can really look neat!
Check out next week's issue as we move to the indoors of your sim homes and take it a room at a time.

Home Building Tip #1

When building a home with the sims, keep in mind that your sims do have an Environment need. Try not to have any room's locked in the middle, give your rooms windows.
If you really want to put a room in the middle, bathrooms are easiest. Just be sure to add lamps! No sim enjoys a dark room ....except maybe a vampire sim.

Gardening Tip

If you own Seasons, your sims can have gardens. Gardens can sometimes be hard to manage. To make gardening easier, try to turn your sim into a plant sim. Turn them back and they can talk to plants! This makes it easier for healthy plants.

You're lot could be shown here! The Home & Garden page is constantly looking for lovely homes to display for the public. If you are interested in having your home show up here, email us at WeAreSim@yahoo.com with a picture of your lot and the link to where we can download it! We can't wait to see!
